Expanding the Data Analytics Community: The 2023 Career Fair by the Analytics Association of the Philippines

Makati, Philippines - The Analytics Association of the Philippines and Eskwelabs teamed up to host a successful in-person Career Fair on May 10, 2023, at Astbury Makati. This event marks one of Eskwelabs' first onsite events since the pandemic, and it was an excellent opportunity for aspiring data analysts and career-shifters to connect with industry professionals.

The Career Fair featured keynote speeches from HomeCredit and BPI, two leading financial institutions in the country. They provided valuable insights into the analytics space and shared their experiences in the field. Additionally, two alumni from Eskwelabs' Data Science Fellowship and Data Analytics Bootcamp, Heide Balcera and Seth Blanco, shared their stories of how Eskwelabs  programs helped them launch their careers in data.

The event also included a Career Skills Workshop by Eskwelabs' Chief of Staff, Francine Tan. She provided tips on how to be confident and succeed in networking. Participants were also given the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to network with industry professionals from participating companies including BPI, HomeCredit, J.P. Morgan & Co., Arch Global Services Inc., and Gcash. These companies were able to showcase their company culture and provide information on their hiring processes.

Around 50 participants, all of whom are career shifters and professionals aspiring to become analysts, were able to expand their network and gain insights about the field. Overall, the event was a huge success and a great step forward in developing the data analytics community in the Philippines.
