AI for the Next Gen of Startups: How Can the Power of Data and AI Unlock Your Next Big Opportunity?

On February 27, 2025, founders, business owners, and AI enthusiasts gathered at the AIM-DBI Open Space for an insightful evening of learning and networking at Data and AI for the Next Gen of Startups: A Mixer for Founders, Business Owners, and Data & AI Enthusiasts. Organized by Eskwelabs in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Management – Dado Banatao Incubator (AIM-DBI), the event brought together experts and innovators to explore the transformative potential of AI and data in the startup ecosystem.

AI and Data isn’t replacing people—it’s amplifying what’s possible.

One of the highlights of the evening was a series of technical talks on AI’s practical applications in startups. Aurelien Chu, CEO of Eskwelabs, discussed how AI can enable startups to achieve more with fewer resources—essentially allowing the work of 30 people to be done by just one or a few. His insights provided a roadmap for founders on leveraging AI to streamline operations and optimize productivity. Another startup co-founder, Rei Cid Ual, CTO of Intelligent AI Solutions, shared firsthand experiences on integrating AI into business operations, offering a real-world perspective on AI’s role in scaling startups.

AI is a powerful tool, but it’s not a magic wand.

After an engaging dinner, attendees participated in a group activity, brainstorming AI-powered startup ideas that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This exercise emphasized the importance of aligning AI applications with meaningful impact, reinforcing that AI is a tool to augment human efforts rather than a universal fix for systemic challenges.

As the event concluded, a key takeaway resonated with many: AI does not replace human ingenuity—it amplifies it. While AI can provide powerful solutions, it is ultimately humans who bring empathy, critical thinking, and a desire to help others. AI may assist, but it is people who drive real change.

At the heart of AI’s potential is the human desire to make a difference.

The AI and Data Mixer was more than just an exchange of ideas—it was a reminder that innovation thrives at the intersection of technology and human purpose. As startups continue to explore AI-driven opportunities, one thing remains clear: the future of AI in business is not just about automation; it’s about empowering people to solve problems in ways that were previously unimaginable.
