Eskwelabs at NexHire’s “Future Forward” Tech Career Fest

Eskwelabs was proud to be part of NexHire’s groundbreaking Tech Career Fest, "Future Forward," held on October 10, 2024. This event marked a milestone for digital nomads and career shifters navigating the Philippine tech industry.

As an event partner, Eskwelabs facilitated a hands-on workshop titled "Gen AI for Lifelong Learning." Attendees learned how to effectively do prompt engineering and use AI ethically in order to enhance personal growth and stand out in today’s competitive job market. Participants left with AI-enhanced personal learning plans and a deeper appreciation for the synergy between human creativity and AI.

At our booth, Eskwelabs connected with tech enthusiasts, sharing insights into our bootcamps (Data Analytics Bootcamp, Data Science Fellowship, and Full Stack Development Program) designed to help participants create projects that impress future employers. With over 80 partner companies, we provide unique opportunities for our students to present their resumes directly to industry leaders.

Beyond workshops and booths, attendees gained valuable insights from industry experts. Richard Parayno (User Experience Philippines) shared how AI is transforming the Post-LLM Industry, explaining that small teams can now achieve what once required a large workforce. He emphasized that while AI makes knowledge more accessible, the key to future-proofing yourself is continuous learning, not merely relying on automation.

Fermin Barrenechea (Museigen.io) highlighted the importance of initiative, saying he’d choose someone with drive and curiosity over someone with technical skills but lacking initiative. This sentiment echoed throughout the event—taking initiative can set you apart in the tech industry.

Nathalia Biancci (Macres House) shared her growth story, stressing the importance of humility and seeking mentorship. Her journey, connecting with mentors on LinkedIn, reminded attendees that learning from others is a key ingredient to success in any field.
