BPI Data Science Fellowship
The BPI Data Science Fellowship is a fully-sponsored, project-based, and intensive learning program designed to prepare individuals to succeed in financial data science with the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
The curriculum emphasizes practical experience and exposure, with learners working on four different data science projects with expert mentors and presenting them to industry experts.
The program starts with fundamental skills such as data preprocessing and exploratory data analysis, and then progresses to advanced skills such as developing predictive models for time series analysis and forecasting. Participants will also learn to create interpretable machine learning models for business purposes and develop their data visualization and presentation skills using generative AI.
The fellowship is suitable for fresh graduates, career changers, job seekers, and aspiring data scientists who want to upskill and potentially work at BPI. Classes will be fully online, with occasional on-site activities in Makati.
Requirements
- High-speed and stable internet connection
- Computer or laptop with webcam (Recommended specs: 1.6 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM, and 50 GB hard drive)
- Earphones with microphone
- Apps: Jupyter Notebook through Anaconda (Matplotlib,Pandas, SQL, Scikit-learn, and Streamlit), GitHub Desktop (web version is fine), and Discord (will be used as our communication channel).
Fellowship Schedule
Classes will be fully online, with occasional on-site activities in Makati.

Data sprints or learning sprints are the building blocks of our bootcamps where you create your data projects.
One sprint = 2 weeks. But the number of managers, teammates, or clients you’ll impress after being trained through a sprint? INFINITE.

2. Fit interview
Complete a fit interview with a member from our team. This is a short interview for us to get to know you better and your motivations to join the program.
3. BPI Interview
Complete an interview with the BPI team. In this session, you’ll get to know more about the fellowship and opportunities after the bootcamp.
4. Announcement of Accepted Applicants
On July 7, 2023, accepted applicants will be announced through email.
